All indications point to a fight between UFC stars Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz on Sept. 10 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

ESPN UFC reporter Brett Okamoto reported on Tuesday that there's been a verbal agreement between the two parties. The fight hasn't been made official yet.

Sportsbooks don't need to wait for the fight to be made official, as they've already begun to post odds. This fight has been almost a year in the making.

Chimaev opened as a massive favorite, and he's become even more of a favorite after the early bets. Chimaev opened at -1150 on DraftKings and has already moved to -1250.

"I am going to handle Nate Diaz's funeral with the UFC," Chimaev told Okamoto translated by his representative Majdi Shammas.

Chimaev is a perfect 11-0 since turning professional and 5-0 since joining the UFC in 2020. His last fight, against Gilbert Burns, was his first fight that went the distance and needed a decision.

On the other side, Diaz opened as the +750 underdog and has already moved to +800 at DraftKings.

It's Diaz's last fight on his UFC contract, and he's expected to move on after his contract, with rumors swirling of a possible Jake Paul/Diaz fight.

Diaz is 14-11 in the UFC after winning Ultimate Fighter 5 for a spot in the UFC. He's lost three of his last four fights, including the 'BMF' title fight against Jorge Masvidal.

The fight is expected to be five rounds despite not being a title fight.
