I am not an Indycar betting expert. I classify myself as a very casual fan who also really enjoys betting on the Indy 500. In fact, there's a good chance that the Indy 500 will be the only Indycar event I bet all season.

But with the sports world postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, I took a look at Indy 500 odds from the Westgate Superbook in Las Vegas and found a 50-1 longshot that I liked enough to bet right now.

Again, I'm by no means an expert in this sport, but do think this bet is offering enough value to warrant a wager.

This is simply a bet because I don't believe the market has caught up with Conor Daly's equipment for the Indy 500.

Daly will be driving for Ed Carpenter Racing (ECR), which constantly provides very fast cars at Indianapolis. Last year, all three ECR cars qualified in the top four before finishing in the top 14.

In 2018, ECR cars qualified first, sixth and seventh, with Ed Carpenter leading the most laps before ultimately finishing in second place.

At 50-1, I'm willing to take a shot on a driver who should have a realistic chance to qualify in the top 10 and solid speed in race trim. I believe it is very likely that Daly is considerably shorter than 50-1 by raceday, so this price offers a low-risk, high-reward opportunity with plenty of value once the green flag waves.

The Bet: Conor Daly 50-1 to Win Indy 500
