While the sports calendar seems to be slowing down for many sports fans, it's just picking up for motorsports bettors. NASCAR, IndyCar and Formula 1 are now in full swing with the month of May just around the corner.
May is THE month for betting on auto racing, specifically the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend that includes F1's Monaco Grand Prix (9:10 a.m. ET, ESPN), IndyCar's Indianapolis 500 (12 p.m. ET, NBC) and NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600 (6 p.m. ET, FOX).
Because the Indy 500 is such a high-profile race, the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas has already opened odds for what's referred to as, "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing."
Defending champion Will Power and Team Penske teammate Josef Newgarden are co-favorites at 7-1, followed by Alexander Rossi and Scott Dixon, both available at 8-1.

Two-time F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso, who will be making his second Indy 500 start, opened at 30-1. Alonso led 27 laps in 2017 and was very much in contention to win before his engine expired with just 20 laps to go.
