NASCAR is going digital. While most major sports leagues have postponed events indefinitely due to the COVID-19 outbreak, NASCAR is turning to the online world, starting with Sunday's eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series, which will virtually be held at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The race will be broadcast live at 1:30 p.m. ET on FS1 and the FOX Sports app, and includes plenty of the sport's current and retired stars, including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Bobby Labonte, Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott.
Jeff Gordon, Mike Joy and Larry McReynolds will call the race, with Clint Bowyer, who is also competing, serving as an in-race analyst.
And while betting odds are not currently available for this race — Circa Sports Vegas is reportedly posting odds at some point — Hamlin took his own shot at setting numbers, tweeting the following "virtual" odds:
eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series Betting Odds
- Ty Majeski: 3-2
- William Byron: 2-1
- Timmy Hill: 2-1
- Parker Kligerman: 5-1
- Garrett Smithley: 5-1
- Chase Briscoe: 6-1
- Denny Hamlin: 6-1
- Alex Bowman: 6-1
- Christoper Bell: 6-1
- Dale Earnhardt Jr.: 8-1
- Landon Cassill: 10-1
- Field: 9-1
Seasoned bettors will notice that Hamlin's odds add up to more than 227% in implied probability, but that doesn't change the fact that bettors are interested in this race and will be going forward, especially if sports remained postponed and digital events can fill a void.
