As if the half-century wait wasn't long enough, NASCAR fans eagerly anticipating the Cup Series' return to dirt racing were forced to wait an extra day thanks to Mother Nature.
The Food City Dirt Race, originally scheduled for Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET, was postponed until Monday afternoon after a deluge of rain flooded Bristol Motor Speedway, making racing at the half-mile circuit impossible.
With NASCAR hoping to get the race started today, let's take a look at the latest Bristol, Tenn., weather forecast, as well as the start time and TV channel for the Food City Dirt Race.

NASCAR at Bristol Monday Weather Forecast
While the weekend weather at Bristol was extremely wet, Monday appears to be very dry.
According to the National Weather Service, high temperatures will near 50 degrees in Bristol on Monday, with … wait for it … a 0% chance of rain.
That bodes very well for the race getting started, and finished on Monday.
In fact, the Truck Series' Pinty's Dirt Truck Race was postponed twice already over the weekend and is scheduled to start at 12 p.m. ET today on Fox Sports 1, so the track should be race ready as long as the current forecast holds true.
According to live NASCAR odds from DraftKings Sportsbook, Kyle Larson is the favorite to win today's race at +300, followed by Christopher Bell (+800), Chase Briscoe (+1200), Kyle Busch (+1200) and Chase Elliott (+1200).
Larson will officially start from the pole, but the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy will have to start at the rear of the field after the team was forced to change engines following Friday's Cup Series practice sessions.
