Following three straight races at tracks with notable tire wear (Auto Club, Las Vegas and Phoenix), the NASCAR Cup Series now visits Atlanta Motor Speedway, marking the return of pack racing.
The action at Atlanta, which now races like a superspeedway, is much less predictable than the three tracks mentioned above, so I'm taking an extremely conservative approach for Sunday's Ambetter Health 400 (3 p.m. ET, FOX).
In the name of transparency, I haven't yet made this wager, but if you're jonesing to get down early for Sunday's race, you could do worse than this top-10 prop at 6-1 NASCAR odds.
NASCAR Odds, Pick for Atlanta
Again, this is a really tough race to handicap for a multitude of factors, but I do like Ty Gibbs to score a top-10 finish at 6-1 odds for a handful of reasons.
First, that is a really solid price for any capable driver in top-tier equipment. And yes, despite a rough start to the season, Gibbs is very talented and has the advantage of piloting Joe Gibbs Racing equipment.
I know, really hard-hitting analysis right there.
Additionally, Gibbs performed well at the newly configured Atlanta in the XFINITY Series, winning here one year ago.
And finally, Gibbs' +600 price to score a top 10 at FanDuel is significantly better than the +255 at BetRivers and 3-1 at DraftKings, making this a much more interesting wager ahead of Sunday's Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta.
Pick: Ty Gibbs for a top-10 finish (+600) |
