Chris Buescher has been a top-1o machine at road courses in the Next Gen era.
The Roush Fenway Racing driver has continued that trend this year, posting top-10 finishes in three of the four road course races in 2024, including a win at Watkins Glen last month.
And while Buescher didn't qualify well – he'll roll off 29th for today's race – missing the postseason actually helps his chances at the ROVAL.
For example, most drivers who are playoff eligible will be looking to lock in stage points and, therefore, stay out at the end of Stages 1 and 2.
Non-playoff drivers, on the other hand, can pit right before the cautions for stage breaks, not lose a lap, and then cycle around to the front of the field when playoff drivers ultimately make their pit stops.
