For the first time ever, the NASCAR Cup Series will race at World Wide Technology Race (WWTR) for Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300 (3:30 p.m. ET, FS1).
WWTR is a flat, 1.25-mile track, and while there’s no perfect comparison on the Cup Series schedule, we can lean on other flat tracks like Phoenix and Richmond to handicap Sunday's race.
In addition, the XFINITY and Truck Series have hosted races here, so plenty of drivers will have some familiarity and experience with WWTR from racing in those events.
With this in mind, let's dive into my favorite featured matchup for Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300.
NASCAR Betting Pick
*Odds as of Wednesday morning
The key for me regarding this featured matchup is the ability to get Chase Briscoe at plus money against Tyler Reddick.
Comparing their stats at both Phoenix and Richmond this season, Briscoe has the better average finish, better driver rating, has led more laps and run more fast laps than Reddick, though much of that is skewed due to Briscoe's win at Phoenix.
Still, at worst, the data suggests that this matchup should be a Pick’em and, as I already mentioned, Briscoe is available at +110 odds.
In addition, Briscoe has been the better qualifier at these tracks, starting sixth and fourth compared to Reddick's 12th and 16th, so there's a good chance that this price will shorten after qualifying should the No. 14 Ford once again earn a better starting spot than the No. 8 Chevy.
The bet: Briscoe (+110) over Reddick
