Yesterday was tough, as Duke blew a late lead before Stanford and Indiana got blown out. However, we're primed to bounce back today with semifinal and final matchups on deck.
So, let's dive into today's best bets.
Maryland -140 vs. Nebraska
2 p.m. ET · Big Ten Network
Nebraska picked up a big victory over Michigan State to earn a spot in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals. However, it now has to take on No. 1 seed Maryland, and at this point in the tournament, the Cornhuskers don't have the arms to compete.
The Cornhuskers will turn to Emmett Olson, who was very solid this season as he enters this start with a 4.50 ERA and held opposing batters to just a .227 average. However, he's lined up to face one of the best lineups in the country, and he's due to regress as his FIP is 5.91.
This Maryland lineup hit the second-most homers in the country and ranked fourth in wRC+. It mounted only two runs against Nebraska on Thursday, but we should get much more production this afternoon.
Plus, they get to give the ball to Jason Savacool, who has put together a tremendous junior season and looked like an ace at times.
Back Maryland to clinch a spot in the final tomorrow.
Florida -135 vs. Vanderbilt
4:30 p.m. ET · SEC Network
The Florida Gators bats had to come to life on Thursday to defeat the Vandy Boys, but in today's semifinal rematch, they will have the edge on the mound.
Two-way stud Jac Caglianone will take the ball this afternoon. He enters with a 3.96 ERA and an impressive .174 BAA. Caglianone has the stuff to dominate lineups, and the Vandy lineup's outlook is bleak.
To make matters worse for Vandy, they've burned both of their top starters to get to this point. While the Commodores may have a 4.29 team ERA, their FIP is over a run higher a 5.58.
Piecing together the game is a risky proposition against this Gators lineup. Candy is bound to falter, and the Gators could break this one open.
Take the Gators to top the Commodores for the second time this week.
Arizona -115 vs. Oregon
10 p.m. ET · ESPN2
The Wildcats came into this tournament as the top offensive team in the conference, and they've done nothing but rake. Arizona has outscored its opposition, 39-19, in the three games it's played, and it should not stop tonight.
Yesterday, I backed Stanford and the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year to cool down this lineup. Well, Arizona rocked Quinn Mathews and kept the Cardinal lineup quiet.
Since I couldn't beat them, I'm joining them tonight against Oregon. The Ducks have a very potent lineup, but their pitching staff is a big question mark.
Oregon finished last in the conference in team ERA and FIP. It's let the opposition hit .322 this season, and the Wildcats will make that average even higher tonight.
