Charlotte vs. UNC Pick
The North Carolina Tar Heels come into this midweek matchup red-hot. They're fresh off a dominant sweep over Wake Forest and haven't lost back-to-back games in a month.
They host a Charlotte 49ers ball club that also enters this matchup with some momentum as they come in, having taken their latest series against East Carolina. However, momentum is not enough to fill the gap between these two clubs.
The biggest discrepancy comes at the dish. North Carolina is not elite offensively, but it's head and shoulders above Charlotte, which ranks 209th in team batting average and 182nd in wRC+.
UNC's offensive struggles will only be amplified tonight, as it boasts one of the best pitching staffs in the country. The Tar Heels rank fourth in team ERA, sixth in WHIP and aren't due for much regression overall.
Look for North Carolina to silence the 49ers bats and pull away in this one as they cover the run line in a dominant midweek win.
Pick: UNC -2.5 (-130)
Western Kentucky vs. Louisville Pick
There will be no shortage of offensive fireworks in our next selection, as the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers face off against the No. 17 Louisville Cardinals.
Louisville is a team I backed successfully last Tuesday, as it's been on fire. Over their last seven games, the Cardinals rank fourth in team batting average and seventh in OPS.
Tonight, they host a Western Kentucky lineup that has been one of the best in the nation. The Hilltoppers have slugged their way to a 31-5 record, ranking 18th in team batting average and 17th in wRC+.
And for good measure, they have the best staff ERA in the country.
However, I fully expect both staffs to be tested here. We know these lineups are more than capable of putting up crooked numbers on the scoreboard.
Take the over, and watch these two teams slug it out.
Pick: Over 13.5
