The Atlanta Hawks won the 2024 NBA Draft Lottery and will get the chance to pick first in this year's NBA Draft. They entered the draft lottery with +3000 odds at DraftKings and a 3% chance to win the top pick in the draft.
The Hawks finished the season with the 10th-worst record in the NBA after losing to the Bulls in the NBA Play-In Tournament. Their short-term and long-term future was already in question as Action Network analyst Brandon Anderson noted in his latest column.
It's tough to get a read on the Hawks, who seem destined to trade away either Trae Young or Dejounte Murray this summer. Though that latter name reminds us Atlanta won't have too many more chances to add high-end talent in the draft since the Hawks traded half their picks away already for Murray.
Atlanta could use a bit of a refresh on a roster in flux, so sure! Why not?
Now the Hawks get a chance at that refresh with the No. 1 pick. Based on the latest odds, sportsbooks have a French big man — not that French big man — slated to go No. 1 overall.
Here's a look at the latest odds for the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NBA draft.
