Bettor an Oilers Win Away from Turning Bonus Bet into Nearly $600K

Imagine turning a bonus bet into nearly $600K.

Well, one bettor is on the precipice of turning that dream scenario into reality.

The unnamed bettor posted a $1,000 bonus bet on a three-leg parlay at +58400 odds shortly before NFL Wild Card Weekend. The first two legs already hit, meaning it all comes down to the Edmonton Oilers defeating the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final to turn free money into 584K.

The bonus bet parlay included a Chiefs Super Bowl victory, Real Madrid winning the UEFA Champions League and the Oilers lifting the Stanley Cup. The Chiefs were +650 while Real Madrid was +550 and Oilers +1100.

Edmonton is the underdog as it looks to win it’s first title since 1990. The Oilers are +105 while the Panthers are -125.

A natural question would be whether to hedge the bet or simply let it play out. Apparently, the bettor is taking the safer route and plans to hedge. As a result, the bettor has already effectively turned free money into a significant payout.
