DraftKings Lowers 2024 Revenue Outlook
Not to be lost in the excitement of the jackpot winners, the 3rd quarter figures are out and the news is mixed. DraftKings' revenue was 1.4% lower than analysts expected. Earnings per share (EPS) fell short of predictions by 46%.
The number of monthly unique players increased to 4 million from 2 million last year, while analysts expected 4 million.
The average revenue per player was $103, down from $114 last year. Analysts had predicted it would be around $106 per player.
Futures Remain Positive
In the future, experts predict that DraftKings' revenue will increase by an average of 18% per year over the next three years. This growth rate is higher than the 9.7% annual growth forecast for the US hospitality industry.
Despite this, DraftKings lowered its 2024 revenue forecast to between $4.9 billion and $5 billion, down from the earlier prediction of $5 billion to $5.3 billion, due to favorable sports outcomes for customers in the early fourth quarter.
The company projected its 2025 revenue to be between $6.2 billion and $6.6 billion, indicating a 31% growth at the midpoint of the revised 2024 forecast.
