A Montana man saw a big win hours before his team even played.
A man identified only as Eric H. from Sheridan, Montana was on a trip to Las Vegas to watch a football game when he decided to play a little High Card Flush Poker at Caesars Palace.
After playing for about an hour, Eric ended up hitting a straight flush, and a jackpot worth more than $600,000.
The casino posted a picture of Eric on its X account. The photo shows Eric still sitting at the table, moments after he hit it big.
Congrats to @CaesarsRewards guest Eric H. from Montana who hit a Jackpot totaling $600,022!

The total jackpot he received was $600,022. A straight flush happens when cards are in sequential order and all in the same suit. His winning cards were a 9, 10, jack, queen, king and ace.
Eric is already retired and said he will add his winnings to his retirement fund. Ironically, according to Vegas Advantage, there are only ten Las Vegas casinos that deal High Card Flush.
Eric going to a football game, then deciding to go to a casino is reminiscent of the story about the man who was going to go to the casino, but changed his mind, and still ended up winning a $2 million jackpot. Or the guy who hit it big after getting a randomly dealt royal flush.
What is High Card Flush?
In High Card Flush, you play against the dealer. To start, you place an Ante bet and can also choose to make two optional bonus bets—Flush Bonus and Straight Flush Bonus. Both you and the dealer receive 7 cards face down. Your aim is to collect the most cards in a single suit.
You’re also given the option of placing side bets. These side bets aren't played against the dealer. You get paid based on the cards in your hand, following the payout table. This means you can still earn your bonus bet, no matter if you win, lose, or fold your hand. Also, for the Straight Flush Bonus, your straight flush doesn't need to be the same hand you use to play against the dealer.
Use a Poker Glossary to Help Learn The Basics
You can pick up on a lot of the terms used in poker by referring to the poker glossary. Poker has a lot of common and uncommon slang terms, and a glossary is a useful tool for understanding the basics.
You’ll also learn rules and strategies you can try while you’re playing the game.
So, if you're tired of playing the same old poker game, you may want to try your luck at High Card Flush. You may one day end up winning a huge jackpot like Eric did. Hopefully, Eric's team secured the victory, giving him double the reasons to celebrate.
Always remember to play responsibly.
