Two days after shutting down without warning, Fubo sportsbook is back online for customers to withdraw their funds.
“Fubo Sportsbook is back online for existing customers in New Jersey, Iowa and Arizona to process withdrawals directly by logging into their accounts. If customers cannot process a request online, they should contact customer support for assistance or to request payment in the form of a check, which will be mailed to them,” Jennifer Press, senior vice president of communications at Fubo TV, said in an email Tuesday night.
FuboTV ended its sports betting venture abruptly Monday, less than a year after it started.
The app went missing from the App Store, and users attempting to access money in their accounts were met with an error message at login.
The app works only for withdrawing money; deposits and bets won’t be processed, according to Press.
The brief offline period was likely needed to disable betting and wagering features, a regulator with the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission told Action Network on Tuesday.
While Fubo hasn’t addressed exactly how long customers will have to withdraw funds, regulators said they expect a 30-day window.
It's unclear who takes over Fubo’s gaming licenses, its team partnerships and its retail operations at casinos such as Casino Queen Marquette in Iowa, which found out Monday the sportsbook was shutting down.
