What goes around always seems to come back around.
Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to host the World Series of Poker® Circuit (WSOP-C) once again. From August 14 to August 25, poker enthusiasts and seasoned players will gather at Harrah’s felt-topped tables.
The WSOP Circuit's return to Harrah's is significant because the casino was the first stop on the tour back in 2005. The 2025-26 stop will be the first time Harrah's has hosted since 2020. From 2005 to 2020, Harrah's was a regular stop on the circuit.
Harrah’s and the WSOP: A Historical Partnership
The history between Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City and the WSOP dates back to 2005 when the casino hosted the very first stop of the inaugural WSOP-C tour.
This marked the beginning of an influential partnership in the world of poker. For 15 years, from 2005 to 2020, Harrah’s was a consistent presence on the WSOP-C schedule, cementing its reputation as a cherished stop for players and fans alike.
The return in 2025 is seen as a homecoming and a celebration of tradition and excellence in poker.
It's just another way America's Playground is trying to generate additional revenue. The most recent report found that online casinos outperformed traditional casinos two consecutive months.
The much-anticipated Top Hat Hotel, which was inspired by the Monopoly Board Game, is also in the works.
Atlantic City Glad To Host Circuit WSOP Events
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) typically does not host a main event series in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The primary WSOP events are traditionally held in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, Atlantic City may occasionally host circuit events, which are part of the WSOP Circuit series that travels to various locations across the United States throughout the year.
These circuit events provide players with the opportunity to compete for WSOP rings and qualify for the Global Casino Championship. The specific schedule for WSOP Circuit events can vary each year, so it's best to check the official WSOP website or casino announcements for the most up-to-date information.
Although before the circuit reaches Atlantic City, it will hit Los Angeles next month, and then the poker action heads back to Las Vegas.
Harrah's Atlantic City Considered a Premier Poker Destination
As Gregg Klein, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s Resort, notes, the return of the WSOP-C underscores Harrah’s commitment to providing premier gaming experiences.
Beyond the thrill of poker, Harrah’s offers a rich blend of luxury and entertainment. Over the last five years, the resort has undergone substantial renovations, making sure guests enjoy not just the excitement of the tournament, but also the resort's accommodations and amenities.
