Less than a week after launching in Pennsylvania, Horseshoe Online Casino has launched in West Virginia.
The unveiling of the app in The Mountain State is part of Caesars' plan to bring casino games from the Las Vegas Strip straight to users' devices.
This launch marks the third state for Horseshoe Online Casino — following its debut in Michigan a few weeks ago — and they’re not done yet.
The desktop platform and mobile app are also set to roll out in New Jersey and Ontario, pending the necessary regulatory approvals.
Popularity of Online Gaming Grows in West Virginia
West Virginia has a long history of gambling, especially with horse racing and land-based casinos.
However, online gambling has changed the scene in the United States, creating a new area that requires new regulations.
In March 2019, West Virginia marked a significant milestone by passing the West Virginia Lottery Interactive Wagering Act. This law legalized online casinos in the state of West Virginia.
The first online casinos launched in 2020.
Multiple Online Casino Options in The Mountain State
West Virginia now features 10 online casinos, including:
- BetMGM
- BetRivers
- Caesars
- DraftKings
- Fanatics
- FanDuel
- Golden Nugget
Each offers different casino games, sign-up bonuses and user experiences. Penn Entertainment may also add the Hollywood Online Casino WV to the mix early in 2025.
Slots, table games, live dealer and video poker are all available via online casinos. The West Virginia Lottery Commission oversees them to ensure a safe and fair gaming environment for players.
