Jennifer Tilly is well known among poker enthusiasts, but this week, the actress and poker player revealed something unexpected that almost broke the internet.
On the most recent episode of 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,' the 66-year-old actress talked about her divorce from ex-husband Sam Simon, while the other Housewives discussed their separations from their former spouses.
"It takes a really long time to get over a divorce," Tilly confided to viewers. "My ex-husband was Sam Simon, who created The Simpsons."
Bombshell Dropped on "Real Housewives" Show
But the bombshell came when she unpacked the financial arrangements she made with Simon following their split.
"When we got divorced, I got a piece of The Simpsons in the divorce settlement, and nobody knew that The Simpsons was going to go on for trillions of years," Tilly explained and continued, "Every day, honestly, every day, I'm like, 'thank you, Sam.'".

After that episode of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,' Tilly's net worth sparked widespread discussion on social media and in news outlets around the globe.
Tilly Is A Legitimate Poker Player
She is a true professional poker player and became the first celebrity to win a World Series of Poker bracelet in 2005. So far, she has earned over $1 million in poker winnings.
In High Stakes Poker Season 13, Tilly just missed out on a pot of more than $300,000.
As the dealer and players prepared for the last hand of the season, Stanley Tang upped the stakes with an $800 straddle. Tilly had her own strategy in mind and escalated the action with a $1,600 double straddle. Not to be outdone, Andrew Robl pushed the pot even further with a $3,200 triple straddle, ultimately leading to a staggering $322,700 at the center of the table. It was eventually won by Chamath Palihapitaya.
But she once won almost $160,000 in the “Ladies No-Limit Hold'em.”
Net Worth Still Up For Discussion
Poker fans know Tilly not just for her marriage to Simon or her roles in hit movies like The Bride of Chucky, but also as a regular on 'High Stakes Poker' and as a participant in big Hollywood home games.
Her estimated net worth of $40 million comes from multiple income sources, including her poker winnings, acting career, reality TV appearances, and royalties from The Simpsons.
Simon, who passed away in 2015, reportedly earned up to $10 million a year from The Simpsons, thanks to his initial deal and the royalties he negotiated when he left the show in 1993.
Tilly’s Legend Continues To Grow
Tilly’s notoriety in the poker world keeps expanding. In fact, her poker prowess caught the eye of the star of the poker-themed film "Dead Money." Actor Emile Hirsch is currently spending time turning his passion for the game, and his artistic talent, into a nice side hustle.
One of Hirsch’s latest creations was a large painting of Tilly at the poker table.
