A guest at Tachi Palace Casino Resort in Lemoore, California, recently struck it rich, winning a jackpot of nearly $117,000 with just a $3 bet on the Dollar Storm slot machine.
When he added it all up, the guest took home a staggering $116,961.10. Tachi Palace Casino Resort posted a picture of him on its website.
When asked about his newfound fortune, the lucky winner shared his plans: "I’m going to buy a new car!"
In the past 30 days alone, the resort has awarded nearly $11 million in jackpot winnings. The resort has been around since 1993, when it was established by the Tachi Yokut Tribe from the Santa Rosa Rancheria.
Tachi Palace Known for Hosting Sporting Events
Tachi Palace Casino Resort is not only known for crowning winners on the casino floor, as it’s hosted many boxing and mixed martial arts events over the years.
World Extreme Cage Fighting held 22 mixed martial arts events at Tachi Palace before the organization's ownership changed hands in 2006. In December 2012, the tribal council decided to stop hosting MMA events at the casino but reversed this decision by March 2013, allowing Tachi Palace Fights to resume.
The venue was supposed to host UFC 249, which was canceled due to the pandemic. But a fight that included what some called the knockout of the year did occur there. It happened during a match between Valesca Machado and Taylor Mauldin.
In addition to MMA, the venue has a strong reputation for hosting numerous boxing events, particularly women's bouts.
