We’re not sure if his fingers were crossed when it happened, but one lucky gambler won over a half-million dollars playing Criss Cross Poker.
The man, identified only as Phong P is from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He scored the massive $517,927 progressive jackpot with a bonus spin while playing a Criss Cross Poker table game at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – Atlantic City.
The casino posted a picture of Phon on its Facebook Page. He’s standing next to the table he won on with the amount flashing on the digital board behind him.
The post’s description read: JACKPOT ALERT Congratulations to Phong P on his MASSIVE $517,927 Progressive Jackpot on Criss Cross Poker!”
That is a way to spend a weekend.
What Is Criss Cross Poker?
Criss Cross Poker is a popular poker table game played with cards dealt in a “cross” layout, using some of the 52 playing cards from a standard deck.
According to the Hard Rock Casino Atlantic City website, this game gives you twice the chance to win. You can win horizontally, vertically, or both ways. You start by placing two equal bets: one for Across and one for Down.
You can also place a 5-card bonus Bet, which stays active even if you fold your hand. You need to make your Ante and Bonus Bets before the cards are dealt, and all bets must be in increments of $5. Your bets are based on the posted pay tables.
Hard Rock Atlantic City Has Lucky Weekend
Phong P isn't the only one going home with a stack of cash after a weekend at Hard Rock Atlantic City. The casino posted another image on its Facebook page of a slot machine that awarded an unidentified player $64,000 over the weekend.
The win came on the Double Diamond Pinball Classic machine. Two jackpots, paid out just a couple of days apart, at the same casino. What's crazy is another jackpot of almost $500,000 was won over the weekend on a slot machine at a Las Vegas hotel. It was a lucky weekend all around.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City features an award-winning gaming floor that offers 2,425 slots, including a private high-end slot salon, plus 131 table games of poker, blackjack, baccarat, craps, roulette and more.
There’s no word on what Phong P will do with his winnings, but it’s safe to say that he’s happy he stopped by the casino.
