It used to be that you could only access the Hollywood Casino app through the ESPN BET sportsbook app in Pennsylvania. But not anymore.
PENN Entertainment, Inc. announced the launch of its stand-alone Hollywood Casino app in the Keystone State.
The company announced this via its X social media account.

Pennsylvania customers can access Hollywood Casino on Android, iOS, or desktop. They can use the ESPN BET app or the new Hollywood Casino app with their existing ESPN BET login.
“We’re excited to launch Hollywood Casino as a stand-alone app in Pennsylvania, giving our customers access to their favorite games in a dedicated, casino-first experience,” said Aaron LaBerge, Chief Technology Officer at PENN Entertainment. “With four Hollywood Casino properties in the state, the app leverages our trusted retail brand and creates a seamless connection between our online and retail gaming experiences.”
More Stand-Alone Hollywood Casino Apps Coming
Launching the app in Pennsylvania is only the first step. PENN plans to launch Hollywood Casino in more areas by 2025, pending regulatory approvals.
Earlier this month, Jay Snowden, the CEO of PENN Entertainment, announced that Hollywood will launch as a standalone entity in Michigan. Then, with regulatory approval, it will be expanded to New Jersey, West Virginia, and Ontario.
In New Jersey, the company recently celebrated its launch of Multiplayer Blackjack.
“We look forward to bringing this enhanced Hollywood Casino experience to more iCasino markets in early 2025,” La Berge said.
What Games Are Available On The New App?
The current Hollywood Casino, available through ESPN BET, offers nearly 700 slots, table games, and live dealer games.
Hollywood Casino offers a wide range of online slots, table games, and live dealer content. It includes custom live dealer tables and a special 'Casino Floor' lobby where users can easily find virtual versions of their favorite slot games from PENN's retail locations.
The Hollywood Casino app also provides original games created by PENN Game Studios, PENN's own casino game development team, which has produced several popular online games like Legendary Larry™ and Wuji Mines™.
The app seamlessly connects with PENN Play, the company’s loyalty program. Members can earn and redeem rewards, like PENN Cash.
MSIGA Negotiations Continue
Pennsylvania is getting ready to join the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) just as the new app launches.
Governor Josh Shapiro supports Pennsylvania's entry into this agreement, and negotiations are in progress. MSIGA allows states to collaborate on interstate poker, enabling online poker operators to link their poker sites across state borders. Governors from participating states must sign the agreement to put the latest version into effect.
