PENN Entertainment launched a new game that no other online casinos offer in New Jersey. It will have the look and feel of a social casino game.
Multiplayer Blackjack is now live on its Hollywood Casino NJ platform, which its creators say is going to enhance the interaction between players.
“By nature, blackjack is a communal game and this new multiplayer option was built to replicate the feeling of sitting at a live casino table,” said PENN Interactive VP of Operations, Jason Birney, in a statement.
The company even posted about the launch on its Instagram page, and its X account:

The post’s description says that Multiplayer Blackjack creates a social gaming environment with elements of a live casino, allowing users to create a private table to play alongside friends, join a public table, and react to moments throughout the game.
What Does Hollywood Casino Multiplayer Blackjack Offer?
The goal of Multiplayer Blackjack is to offer a social gaming experience similar to a live casino.
The new game combines elements of a live dealer game and lets players create their own private table with friends.
They can also join other public tables. Multiplayer Blackjack offers several features, including:
- Side bets
- Customized emote cards to react during the game
- Bet behind
In blackjack, "Bet Behind" is a feature available at some live dealer online casinos, enabling players not seated at the table to wager on the hands of active players. Essentially, you are betting on the outcome of another player's hand.
Players can also watch up to 999 others in a special viewer mode through the bet behind feature.
The game includes Lightning tables and Early Lock-In bets, allowing players to play at their own pace.
Social Casino Games Insanely Popular
Social casino game apps are online games, such as poker, slots, and roulette, that simulate casino gambling without offering monetary rewards. Popular social casinos that are out there include Stakes and Clubs Poker.
In fact, they’re getting so big, that Google also recently announced that it will update its Personalized Ads policy in December to remove social casino game apps from the restricted “Gambling” sensitive interest category.
New Hollywood Casino Standalone App on the Way
You can currently access Hollywood Casino only through the ESPN BET sportsbook app in New Jersey. However, this will change in 2025.
Earlier this month, Jay Snowden, the CEO of PENN Entertainment, announced that Hollywood will launch as a standalone entity in New Jersey. It will first start in Pennsylvania, and then is expected to expand to Michigan. With regulatory approval, it will then be expanded to New Jersey, West Virginia, and Ontario.
The current Hollywood Casino, available through ESPN BET, offers nearly 600 slots, table games, and live dealer games. A totally new platform launch is anticipated to create an even larger collection, including Multiplayer Blackjack.
