Pennsylvania online casinos have already generated over $2 billion in revenue this year. According to figures from the The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) a record-setting $245.2 million in October propelled the state past the milestone.

The previous state and national monthly-revenue record was $233.1 million, which Pennsylvania operators set in March.

This isn’t the first time that Pennsylvania has topped $2 billion in revenue in a single calendar year, but last year it took until mid-December to get there, becoming the first state to do so.

What’s scary is that those numbers could go even higher next year, as Pennsylvania lawmakers work to add the state to a multi-state online poker compact.

Pennsylvania Not Alone Breaking Online Casino Records

Fall is an important time of year for online casinos. Casinos see a significant increase in foot traffic this time of the year due to factors like cooler weather, holiday seasons like Thanksgiving, and people taking vacations, leading to a potential boost in gambling revenue as more people visit casinos during this time

And a closer look at the numbers prove it.

Six of the seven states with legal iGaming broke their respective records last month. However, since the Keystone State is the biggest of the markets, Pennsylvania’s online casino records are also United States national records.

Michigan and New Jersey were Pennsylvania’s closest competitors for online gaming revenue. Michigan generated almost $221 million and New Jersey just under $214 million

The American Gaming Association (AGA) reports that online gaming is growing quickly, with revenue reaching $2.08 billion this quarter—a 30.3 percent increase from last year.

Which Pennsylvania Online Casinos and Games Fared Best?

Generally speaking, online slots brought in about $141 million in gross revenue, which is up 28% from last year. Revenue from internet table games also went up by 8% to roughly $46 million. However, online poker revenue dropped by 6% to approximately $2 million.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course is still the top performer in the online gaming market. In October, it earned around $70 million, which is a 12% increase from the previous year.

Valley Forge Casino holds the second position with online gaming revenue of about $52 million, marking a 47% increase compared to last year. Rivers Casino Philadelphia is in third place, bringing in roughly $33 million, which reflects a 14% increase.
