The 2,304 Circa Survivor contestants who backed Baltimore as the NFL team most certain to win in Week 2 had to feel pretty good heading into the fourth quarter as the Ravens held a double-digit lead over the Las Vegas Raiders.

But then Baltimore blew it, surrendering 13 unanswered points to lose 26-23. And with that, a $14.27 million Circa Survivor contest that originally featured 14,266 entries is down to just 4,662 after a couple weeks worth of action.

In Circa Survivor, contestants who’ve paid $1,000 per entry pick one team to win straight up each week, but can't pick the same squad twice over the course of the regular season.

Baltimore Bloodbath, Cincy Slaughter

While the Baltimore bloodbath was bad, it paled in comparison to Cincinnati’s Week 1 loss at home to the New England Patriots. After that upset unfolded, 34.3% of the field was eliminated. For comparison, 26.5% of the field saw dollar signs fade from focus after the Ravens’ loss.

According to a Circa press release, nearly 10% of the remaining field was eliminated when Tampa Bay upset Detroit, while those on the wrong side of Cleveland-Jacksonville, Dallas-New Orleans and Green Bay-Indianapolis combined to account for another 8%.

All told, 4,040 entrants — or 46.4% of the remaining field — were eliminated during Week 2, with Monday’s EaglesFalcons game boasting the potential to fatten that figure.
