"I congratulate these workers for showing resilience and voting to join our Teamsters family," said Erick Calvert, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 325. “Despite facing an aggressive anti-union campaign, the slot attendants have sent a powerful message to Hard Rock management. They are determined to fight for the dignity, respect, and strong contract they deserve.”
Slot Attendants Joining a Growing Teamster Family
With their vote, the slot attendants join over 5,000 Teamsters in the casino and gaming industry across the nation. At Hard Rock Casino Rockford, they unite with valet and warehouse workers who are already represented by Local 325.
"We are proud to call ourselves Teamsters and look forward to negotiating alongside our brothers and sisters in the valet and warehouse," said Siara Raymer, a slot attendant and new member of Local 325. "All of us were fed up with the status quo and knew it was time to stand our ground. Now, we are ready to fight for what we deserve."
Teamsters Local 325 represents over 1,000 workers across northern Illinois, covering a broad spectrum of industries. From freight and sanitation drivers to dock workers, casino employees, public sector workers, maintenance crews and clerical staff, the Teamsters are actively working to secure better conditions for their members. With the slot attendants now on board, Local 325 strengthens its voice and presence in the region.
Hard Rock Rockford Casino Opened in August
Hard Rock Casino Rockford opened its doors to eager visitors just six months ago. It generated nearly $14 million in its first month after becoming Illinois' 13th permanent casino.
The casino covers 175,000 square feet and features 1,300 slot machines, 50 table games, a six-table poker room and a retail sportsbook.

The Hard Rock Live venue seats 1,600 guests, ready to host various events, and of course, there’s a Hard Rock Cafe.
The new Hard Rock Rockford casino is guaranteed to generate $7 million annually for the city thanks to a host community agreement.
But it will face future competition when the new Ho-Chunk Nation casino swings open its doors. It will be located just over the state line in Beloit, Wisconsin, about 20 miles to the north and is scheduled to open in 2026.
Now, we’ll wait to see if the slot attendants' decision to join the union sets a precedent for other workers in the region looking to advocate for their labor rights.
