For the first time ever, the SuperBook will not be confined solely to the Westgate in Las Vegas.
Months after Colorado voted to legalize sports betting within the state, the industry powerhouse and home of the famous SuperContest has announced that it will be opening new doors at The Lodge in Black Hawk, Colorado.
The SuperBook joins Circa Sports, which also announced that it would be signing on in Colorado back in February, among a few other operators.
At its current residence in Las Vegas, the SuperBook takes in about 68% of its action through mobile devices. According to Executive Vice President Jay Kornegay, that figure is expected to increase dramatically in Colorado — up just above 95%.
The reasoning makes sense. Like most casinos in Colorado, The Lodge is located in a mountain town outside of Denver — Black Hawk is about a 50-minute drive from the state's capital — which means most of the roughly 6 million Coloradans aren't living near them.
Speaking of that population, Kornegay notes that entering a state double the size of Nevada (roughly 3 million people) should, as you'd expect, significantly increase numbers, especially given the loyalty and passion of Colorado sports fans.
As it stands now, 80% of the SuperBook's market is local, another figure that will increase once Colorado sports betting goes live considering Black Hawk probably isn't drawing the same tourism numbers as the Vegas Strip.
