Former Canadian tennis player Genie Bouchard is used to turning heads, whether it’s on the tennis court or, more recently, the pickleball court, where crowds admire her blistering serves and forceful returns.

But for Christmas, Bouchard went to the island of Nassau in the Bahamas and hit the jackpot in the casino with her red minidress on.

She shared some pictures on her social media pages, including her X (formerly Twitter) account. The description read, “Merry Christmas.”

She modeled the dress in front of a row of slot machines, and also showed off the look on her official Instagram account. She captioned the post, "Making red my favorite color for 2025." In addition, Bouchard uploaded a series of photos featuring her younger sister who was with her on her Christmas vacation.

Who is Genie Bouchard?

Eugenie Bouchard is a native of Montreal. She was the first Canadian-born player to make the finals of Wimbledon back in 2014, where she was defeated by two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitová

She climbed to fifth place in the world rankings that year. She also reached the semifinals in the Australian and French Opens.

Bouchard continued to compete regularly in major tournaments for five more years. However, slumps and injuries led her to step back from full-time professional  competition.

Despite this, her modeling shoot for the 2017 Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition helped maintain her public profile. It may have also helped to inspire her casino photo shoot.

Trading Tennis Racket for a Pickleball Racket

But she recently put down her tennis racket for a different one. She just wrapped up her first year playing professionally on the Pickleball Tour.

“I was 0-9 in my first three tournaments,” Bouchard said in an interview that was published in the Daytona Beach News Journal. “My first match win, finally, came in April. Before really knowing about it, I assumed, coming from tennis, I’d be good right away. That was definitely not the case,” she added.

This year, she participated in a few events and hopes to do the same in 2025 while also playing in the PPA Pickleball Tour

Bouchard Will Be in Las Vegas in February

Bouchard is set to team up with Andy Roddick to face off against Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi in Pickleball Slam 3. The event is set to take place on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Eugenie Bouchard, Andre Agassi and the world's top pros will play in the Pickleball Slam 3 event in Las Vegas in February.

Agassi and Graf are the defending champions, but it doesn’t seem to faze Bouchard. She took to her social media and extended her best wishes to the duo with a twist. She hilariously wished them happy “beatings” instead of “wishes.” “I’d like to wish my opponents, Andre and Steffi, a very special season’s beatings,” she wrote.

It's all in good fun because Bouchard has been praised by Graf and Agassi for her courage and strength in making the switch from tennis to pickleball.

So the stage is set for what should be a stellar pickleball showdown in Sin City. The only question that’s left is if Bouchard will bring the red dress for her next trip to the casino.
