The last time we saw Dak Prescott on a football field, he was being carted off of it after breaking his ankle during a game. That hasn't stopped oddsmakers from setting the bar high in his return to the field in 2021.
DraftKings has released several NFL props, including total passing yards for several notable quarterbacks. Only one player has a higher over/under than Prescott, and of course, that player is Patrick Mahomes.
Prescott's 4,795.5 yards would've ranked second last year after Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson threw for 4,823. However, with one more game added to each team's regular-season schedule, expectations are higher for the best players in the league.
Prescott played in only five games in 2020, throwing for 1,856 yards with nine touchdowns and four interceptions before a broken ankle cost him his season. The best statistical season of his career came in 2019 when he threw for 4,902 yards on 596 attempts.
Mahomes posted the highest total on the board, with an impressive over/under of 5,050.5. The Kansas City Chiefs star surpassed that number in the only season he played in all 16 games back in 2018. He threw for 5,097 yards on 580 pass attempts that year. In 15 games in 2020, Mahomes threw for 4,470 yards on 588 attempts.
Tom Brady finished third in the league in passing yards last year to Watson, and Brady and finds himself third on the odds board. His total of 4,750.5 is ahead of his 4,633-yard mark in 2020.
