There was significant 2022 NFL Draft news on Tuesday — and it was more about Aidan Hutchinson than Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson.
While Wilson was moved to the Broncos for multiple first-round picks and Rodgers made clear he'll return to the Packers, it was the Jacksonville Jaguars franchise-tagging offensive tackle Cam Robinson that moved betting lines in the draft market.
The Jaguars hold the No. 1 overall pick and mock drafts and rumors have them choosing between a pass rusher in Hutchinson or a left tackle in Evan Neal or Ikem Ekwonu to protect Trevor Lawrence. With Robinson under contract for next season, Hutchinson became the odds-on favorite.
On Feb. 25, Hutchinson, the pass rusher out of Michigan was +160 to be the No. 1 overall pick just ahead of Alabama's Neal at +175. That flipped, with Neal -105 at DraftKings on Tuesday morning.
But following the Robinson news, Hutchinson moved to -175 at FanDuel. Neal is now +480 with Ekwonu +550. Oregon's Kayvon Thibodeaux is a longer shot at +1900 before getting to the quarterbacks.
Hutchinson recorded 14 sacks, 62 tackles and two forced fumbles in 2021. His 14 sacks ranked third in all of college football.
Josh Allen led the Jaguars in sacks in 2021 with 7.5. Defensive end Dawuane Smoot (6) was the only other player with more than three sacks.
Only the Falcons, Lions, Chiefs and Eagles finished with fewer sacks per game than the Jaguars, who averaged 1.9 sacks per game.
