I'm already starting my research for the 2022 NFL Draft, and I've recently released two way-too-early pieces.

Here's a third one: My way-too-early quarterback big board — my top 20 quarterbacks for the 2022 draft.

As you might already know, I am obsessed with the NFL draft.

Over the past three years, I'm No. 3 in FantasyPros mock draft accuracy, and I've done well betting on the NFL draft.

– 2019: +17.7 units
– 2020: +26.2 units
– 2021: +32.0 units

Here's what I learned from placing 298 bets on the NFL draft this year.https://t.co/uGvDcqayAH

But I’d never created a big board until recently — just before the 2021 NFL Draft. Given that my top 100 big board finished tied for No. 17 at The Huddle Report, I figure it’s worth going into position-by-position detail for 2022.

I’m not a tape watcher, so I have a very numbers-driven big board based almost entirely on mock draft data, historical draft trends, recruitment grades and college production.

Imagine this scenario.

  1. I am an NFL general manager.
  2. I have fired all my scouts.
  3. I need to create a big board very quickly.

In that situation, this is the quarterback big board I would probably come up with.

Based on the current information we have now on the potential 2022 prospects, these are my top 20 quarterbacks in the class, listed by projected draft order.

Is this list bound to be wildly inaccurate almost a year ahead of the draft? Absolutely.

Enjoy.

2022 NFL Draft QB Class

For years before the 2021 draft, evaluators generally assumed that quarterback Trevor Lawrence would be the No. 1 overall pick and the top player at his position.

Although the 2022 class lacks a clear frontrunner, Spencer Rattle (Oklahoma), Sam Howell (North Carolina) and Kedon Slovis (USC) are all worthy candidates for the No. 1 overall pick, and the cohort has good depth: Once again, we could see as many as five quarterbacks go in Round 1 and a few more go in Rounds 2-3.
