Going into Thursday night, NFL Draft odds had Will Levis as the favorite to go fourth overall to the Colts. Hendon Hooker was also gaining steam as a popular mock-draft pick later in the first round.
Well, both players are still available entering Night 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft, but there are plenty of teams in need of a QB for the future.
Let's break down the offerings at FanDuel, as of Friday morning.
NFL Draft Odds
Odds via FanDuel and as of 11 a.m. ET.
Team | Odds |
---|---|
Levis | -340 |
Hooker | +240 |
This definitely makes sense. Levis was mocked by many to be a top-five pick, while Hooker is 25 years old, coming off an ACL injury and wasn't seen as a surefire first-round pick. It would be a surprise if Hooker went before Levis, but it would also speak to just how flawed of a prospect Levis is.
Will Levis Draft Odds
Odds via FanDuel and as of 11 a.m. ET.
Team | Odds |
---|---|
Titans | +230 |
Rams | +350 |
Raiders | +850 |
Buccaneers | +1200 |
Lions | +1400 |
Vikings | +1400 |
Seahawks | +1400 |
Patriots | +1600 |
Commanders | +1800 |
Falcons | +2000 |
Dolphins | +2000 |
Every team at 20-1 or higher either has a reliable starting quarterback or just drafted one last year (that's you, Pittsburgh).
The Titans make the most sense. Rumors surrounding Ryan Tannehill's future have been swirling all offseason, and they were rumored to be interested in trading up for a QB in the first round.
The Rams are a bit of a surprise to see there at +350. Los Angeles picks fifth in the second round tonight. Matthew Stafford turned 35 in February and is coming off a season-ending injury last year, but the Rams roster is so barren that it would make sense for them to look elsewhere. Also, L.A. doesn't have a reasonable out in Stafford's deal for another three years and Levis would only be signed to a four-year contract.
The Raiders and Buccaneers are also in need of a quarterback for the future, and you could say the same about the Lions, Vikings, Commanders and Falcons.

While Levis could still be viewed as a team's quarterback of the future, if Hooker falls past the second round then his immediate future may be as a reliable backup due to his age and experience. That opens up his market a little more, so I included teams listed down to 30-1.
The Raiders, Seahawks and Vikings have quarterbacks in place for 2023, so it might not make sense for them to pick Hooker since he'd likely sit his rookie season. From there, he'd be 26 years old when he gets a real chance as an NFL starter.
The Rams could make sense if Hooker keeps falling. They need a reliable backup with no one else on the roster at QB except for Stafford.
Perhaps there's a team like Washington or Tennessee that views Hooker as an immediate starter and trades up early in the second round.
