Important Commanders Betting Stats

Daniels, of course, hasn’t played a game in the NFL. Backup Marcus Mariota is 33-41-2 against the spread in his career as a starter, while Jeff Driskel is 4-5-1.

Dan Quinn is 40-50 against the spread in his NFL head-coaching career from his time with the Falcons.

Washington Has Its Quarterback

Few teams undergo as drastic of a shift as the Washington Commanders did over the offseason.

The Commanders hired a new general manager and head coach, and they also drafted who they hope is their new franchise quarterback with the second overall pick. Also, Washington’s ownership took over right as training camp started this year, and it has now had a full offseason in control of the organization.

The focus on the Commanders entering this season is on the offense, which will be led by former Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who is now Washington’s offensive coordinator. Kingsbury’s job is to put Daniels in a position to succeed after years of coaching a similarly athletic quarterback in Kyler Murray.

Comparisons for Daniels have ranged from Lamar Jackson to Deshaun Watson. He has a big arm with standout rushing ability that could drastically improve Washington’s offense from last year from the start.

Last season during his Heisman Trophy-winning season at LSU, Daniels ran for 1,110 yards while throwing 40 touchdowns to four interceptions.

Daniels has a solid supporting cast, with Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson leading the receiving corps and veteran Zach Ertz at tight end. Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson lead a group of running backs that also has solid NFL experience.

How To Bet the Commanders in 2024

While Daniels appears to be a potential superstar, that may not lead directly to team success for the Commanders.

If you’re looking to bet on him, he’s +600 to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Caleb Williams is in a great position in Chicago, so he’s the big favorite at +140. Puka Nacua put up record-setting numbers for a rookie last season and didn’t win the award over C.J. Stroud, so it seems like a two-horse race.

2024 Commanders Schedule Info

Thanks to a last-place schedule, the Commanders have the 24th-most difficult schedule in the NFL this season according to Action Network’s Sean Koerner.

Washington faces two playoff teams from last season in its division, but the only other ones it’ll face are the Buccaneers, Ravens, Steelers and Browns.
