Oddsmakers posted their lines for Super Bowl LIX before the confetti even hit the ground following Mecole Hardman Jr.’s game-winning overtime-catch in Super Bowl LVIII.

According to BetMGM, the San Francisco 49ers (+500) were the early favorite to exact revenge over the Chiefs (+600), who had the second-best odds. The two powerhouses still remain ahead of the pack, although they've flipped. The Chiefs are now favored (+600) while the 49ers are +650. Meanwhile, no other team has odds shorter than +1000.

Of course, it's been a loooooong 22 weeks since opening odds were first posted. Every roster naturally undergoes offseason changes with some more drastic than others via free agency, trades and the draft, as well as coaching and personnel changes.

Add it all up and teams have seen their Super Bowl odds change along the way.

While they’re still relative long shots, no team’s seen it’s Super Bowl odds jump higher than the Pittsburgh Steelers.  They were +8000 when odds opened, which was the seventh-worst in the league. However, their chances have more than doubled to +4000 as teams report for training camp.

Pittsburgh had the lowest odds of any team that made the playoffs a year ago when lines were first posted, which was quite the indictment of it’s quarterback, Kenny Pickett. The Steelers clearly agreed as they pulled off a pair of moves to upgrade the position.

The first came on March 11 when the Steelers signed the recently released Russell Wilson.  Then, only a few days later, they sent a conditional sixth-round pick to the Chicago Bears for Justin Fields, who became expendable with the Bears positioned to draft Caleb Williams. They also offloaded Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles that very same day.

Those moves increased Pittsburgh’s odds only to +7000. However, additional moves — including signing linebacker Patrick Queen and returner extraordinaire Cordarrelle Patterson, as well as a draft class that NFL Network graded as the best this year — helped sent their odds skyrocketing.

Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers also saw their chances rapidly increase from +2500 to +1600. Jordan Love proved to be the quarterback of the future, leading Green Bay to a 48-32 Wild Card Round throttling of the Dallas Cowboys that wasn’t nearly as close as the final score indicates. The Packers were unfortunately eliminated one week later in the Divisional Round when they barely fell to the eventual NFC champion 49ers, 24-21.

Green Bay’s biggest off-season acquisition was running back Josh Jacobs, who led the league with 1,653 rushing yards and totaled over 2,000 scrimmage yards two years ago. The Packers also made a significant coaching change, jettisoning much maligned defensive coordinator Joe Barry. They replaced him with Jeff Haffley, the former Boston College coach who has already drawn strong reviews from players.

The Atlanta Falcons are also on the rise. Most notably, they signed Kirk Cousins to solve their quarterback woes. They also fired head coach Arthur Smith, who was heavily criticized for not involving young, stud skill players enough like running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts. Atlanta hired Raheem Morris to replace Smith after an impressive stint as the Los Angeles Rams' defensive coordinator. Add it all up and Atlanta's odds jumped from +5000 to +2800

The Houston Texans also took a massive leap forward under rookie QB C.J. Stroud a year ago, winning the AFC South. Their odds jumped tremendously after a bevy of moves, going from +2500 to +1400. The biggest addition was trading for receiver Stefon Diggs, adding the star to an already stacked group that includes Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Noah Brown.

The Texans also signed running back Joe Mixon and tight end Dalton Schultz to improve the offense. Defensively, they added pass-rusher extraordinaire Danielle Hunter, defensive end Denico Autry and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair among others.

On the other side, the Minnesota Vikings’ odds tanked following a tumultuous offseason. In fact, it was pretty much the inverse of Pittsburgh’s as the Vikings opened at +4000 and fell to +8000.  They lost Cousins to the Falcons, and drafted Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy 10th overall to replace him. It’s anyone’s guess if the rookie will start the year or if it’ll be journeyman Sam Darnold.

All-in-all, here are the current Super Bowl odds for all 32 teams compared to what they opened at back in February.
