Brandon Aiyuk
ATD +250 (FanDuel)
The Broncos have yet to allow a touchdown to a wide receiver this season, but we have a good spot here with Brandon Aiyuk.
He leads the 49ers in red zone targets and catches through two games, and perhaps most importantly, he has a connection with Jimmy Garoppolo. Last season, Garoppolo threw 25 percent of his touchdown passes to Aiyuk.
In this particular matchup, Aiyuk will be needed quite a bit if San Francisco’s rushing attack can’t get going. George Kittle, who’s making his season debut, was another player I was considering, but I’m iffy on whether he’ll be effective coming off a groin injury.
KJ Hamler
ATD +400 (Bet365)
Let’s be real: Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy are the top-two WRs for the Broncos, but neither has done much to warrant odds of less than +200 yet.
Hamler, however, played over 60 percent of snaps in Week 1 – and with Jeudy not at full health, he could see more targets.
Admittedly, this is a bit of an odds play as Hamler hasn’t gotten an opportunity to show he can beat defenses over the top. In three games with Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater last season, his odds were +300 or less.
Kyle Juszczyk
ATD +900 (Bet365)
Going back to old faithful here with Kyle Juszczyk, who I cashed last year at +750 in Week 3 against the Packers.
Of all 49ers RBs, Juszczyk is second in snap count working as a fullback, and he scored at the goal line in Week 2 against the Seahawks. Working in his favor is the fact that the Broncos’ stout defense could force San Francisco into needing as much blocking as possible.
Some books have him as low as +500, so shop around and get as much value as you can.
