NFL parlay bets are one of those things that we know as sports bettors are not always the “smart” play. But for whatever reason, parlays draw us in like a moth to a flame. Is it the thrill of a potentially huge payout that keeps us coming back for more? Or is it the satisfaction of showing off our NFL betting prowess after hitting on a multi-leg parlay? Whatever the reason, parlay wagers are undoubtedly going to continue to be a centerpiece in the 2023-24 NFL season for new and seasoned bettors alike.
Action Network looked back on the 2022-23 NFL season and found some of the craziest parlay wins* from a season ago. Whether these winners got lucky, or knew what they were doing the whole time, they struck gold in the parlay market!
Big payouts can be deceiving when it comes to parlay bets. A large payday does not necessarily equate to a crazy parlay. For the sake of this ranked list, we decided to look at the total odds of each wager to determine which parlay truly had the longest shot of hitting from last year’s NFL season.
Top NFL Parlay Wins of 2022-23
Here are the Top 5 craziest parlay wins from last season ranked in order from longest to shortest total odds.
Breaking Down the Top 5
1. In a parlay that was nothing short of miraculous, the craziest win registered through the Action Network in 2022-23 was a 12-leg, +46315 odds beast that netted the winner a whopping $23,157.71. Not a bad day’s work for a $50 wager! Here’s a look at each leg:
- Titans at -650 odds (vs. Colts): 24-17 Final
- Packers at -450 odds (vs. Patriots): 27-24 Final
- Cowboys at -375 odds(vs. Commanders): 25-15 Final
- Giants at -275 odds (vs. Bears): 20-12 Final
- Seahawks at -225 odds (vs. Lions): 48-45 Final
- Jets at -160 odds (vs. Steelers): 24-20 Final
- Raiders at -150 odds (vs. Broncos): 32-23 Final
- Eagles -7.5 points at -125 odds (vs. Jaguars): 29-21 Final
- Cardinals at -105 odds (vs. Panthers): 26-16 Final
- Chiefs at +110 odds (vs. Buccaneers): 41-31 Final
- Falcons at +120 odds (vs. Browns): 23-20 Final
- Bills at +200 odds (vs. Ravens): 23-20 Final
Talk about having to sweat out a win. 8 of the 12 legs were within a single score of losing. Things certainly went the right way for this bettor to earn the craziest parlay top spot.
2. Next up, we have a prop parlay that relied on a handful of players coming up big against their projected stat lines in the Week 7 Steelers vs. Dolphins matchup. This 6-leg parlay had more modest odds of +5000 compared to our #1 craziest parlay, but still no walk in the park.
- Raheem Mostert Over 69.5 Rushing Yards at -110 odds: 79 Total Rushing Yards
- Najee Harris Over 49.5 Rushing Yards at -110 odds: 65 Total Yards
- Pat Freiermuth Over 39.5 Receiving Yards at -110 odds: 75 Total Receiving Yards
- Mike Gesicki Over 24.5 Receiving Yards at -110 odds: 27 Total Receiving Yards
- George Pickens Over 49.5 Receiving Yards at -110 odds: 61 Total Receiving Yards
- Kenny Pickett Over 244.5 Passing Yards at -110 odds: 257 Total Passing Yards
Overall, this winner didn't have to panic too much on the way to hitting this parlay. All of his player prop legs hit the Over on their projected state lines fairly comfortably, with the exception of Mike Gesicki, who only covered his receiving yards by a mere 2.5 yards. All-in-all, this $750 wager reaped a spectacular $37,500 prize.
3. Same game parlays had another major win in 2022-23 for one Action Network bettor. This user hit it big on a 6-leg SGP at +4500 total odds betting on the Browns vs. Bengals Week 8 Monday Night Football game. Unlike the previous winners, this bettor customized his parlay with several alternative lines, which means they clearly did their homework for this game.
- Under 45.5 Total Points: 45 Total Points
- Tie Game After 1st Quarter: 0-0 Score After 1st
- Nick Chubb Over 89.5 Rushing Yards: 101 Total Rushing Yards
- Nick Chubb Anytime Touchdown Scorer: 2 Total Touchdowns
- Joe Burrow Under 254.5 Passing Yards: 232 Total Passing Yards
- Browns +3.5 Points: 13-32 Final
This bettor must have been feeling very confident on all of his legs except the final score total. Winning this parlay hinged on just half a point in the Over/Under total for the game. When the clock hit zeroes on MNF, this bettor turned $500 into $22,500.
4. Who doesn’t love a good underdog parlay? Well, the fourth longest odds parlay win from the Action App last season rode a few underdogs to a big payout. Here are the teams that got it done for this bettor in Week 6 of the season:
- Jets at +110 odds (vs. Packers): 27-10 Final
- Bengals at +185 odds (vs. Saints): 30-26 Final
- Giants at +240 odds (vs. Ravens) 24-20 Final
This was no easy win, as two of the three legs of the parlay were each within 4 points, or just one touchdown, of going the wrong way. This parlay came in at +1935 total odds, which was good enough to turn a $1,000 wager into $19,349 worth of winnings.
5. Rounding out the Top 5 list, we have a bettor cashing in on a favorite 5-leg parlay during Week 8 of the 2022-23 NFL season. This wager skillfully blends spreads and moneylines for a parlay with +1616 total odds.
- Bills -6.5 at -200 odds (vs. Packers): 27-17 Final
- Seahawks -2.5 at -140 odds (vs. Giants): 27-13 Final
- Commanders +3 at -115 odds (vs. Colts): 17-16 Final
- Titans -115 odds (vs. Texans): 17-10 Final
- 49ers -110 odds (vs. Rams): 31-14 Final
As far as multi-leg parlays are concerned, this one was not too stressful for our winner. Commanders vs. Colts presented the scariest moment, but still had points to lean on. These five-legs turned $2,500 into a hefty $40,396.55 payout.
