Anthony Richardson missed almost the entirety of his rookie year in 2024 after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 4. Unfortunately, he suffered yet another Week 4 injury this year as he was forced out of the game midway through the first quarter after hurting his hip against the Steelers. He was eventually ruled out.

The quarterback was injured on a 16-yard run to Pittsburgh's 30-yard line with the Colts up 7-0. He took a hard hit and went to the sideline for two plays before returning for a first-and-goal from the six-yard line. Richardson ran left on a designed run, but didn’t look right as he hit the ground after gaining a yard. He immediately went to the sideline and then directly into the locker room.

Richardson was 3-for-4 for 71 yards through the air while running the ball three times for 26.

He was replaced by reigning Comeback Player of the Year Joe Flacco, who starred when inserted as the Cleveland Browns’ starter last season. He completed his first two passes including a touchdown to Josh Downs to give the Colts a 14-0 lead.
