I'm going against the public and taking Cardinals +6.5 on Saturday night.

Cardinals vs Rams Week 17 Preview, Prediction
We have one last chance (probably) to win money on the NFC West.
Even with the injuries to the Cardinals, I don’t think these teams are very far apart. Arizona might be without both of its offensive tackles and RB James Conner, but I don’t see the difference between these teams being indicative of this spread.
In terms of DVOA rankings, the Rams are ninth on offense to the Cardinals’ 11th, but Arizona has the edge on defense by four spots at 16th. The Rams’ special teams is also worse.
This line reeks of recency bias and motivation. The Rams have surged to the top of the NFC West after a 1-4 start, while the Cardinals have been eliminated from playoff contention with four losses in their last five games. There’s no denying that these teams are trending in opposite directions.
This is the Cardinals’ Super Bowl now, though. Next week, they finish the season against the 49ers in a meaningless game for both sides. This is their last chance to make an impact on the division race.
In Week 16 and later, teams with a win percentage between 40-60% (Rams are 60%) facing teams with a win percentage between 8-25% lower are 31-75-5 against the spread. We get between four and seven such matchups every season, and that trend has never finished more than one game below .500 in Bet Labs’ history.
NFC West road underdogs under seven points also cover at a 70% clip, according to Bet Labs, and Kyler Murray is 31-16-2 against the spread as an underdog. Matthew Stafford only covers at a 41% clip when he’s laying three or more points.
My Pick: Cardinals +6.5 (+100; DraftKings)
