The Atlanta Falcons (3-2) and Carolina Panthers (1-4) will kick off the late NFL Week 6 Sunday afternoon slate. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on FOX. The game can be streamed on YouTube TV and other streaming services.
The Falcons are 6-point favorites over the Panthers (Falcons -6) after the spread opened Falcons -3.5 before the season. The game total is 47.5 after opening at 44. Atlanta is -275 to win outright on the moneyline, while Carolina is +220 to pull off the upset.
The Falcons won 36-3o in overtime last week against the Buccaneers. Kirk Cousins threw for 509 yards and four touchdowns, with both Drake London and Darnell Mooney hauling in more than 100 receiving yards. The Panthers lost 36-10 to the Bears. Chuba Hubbard ran for 97 yards and a touchdown, but Andy Dalton averaged less than 5 yards per attempt en route to 136 passing yards.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers NFL Week 6 Preview
These teams have split four straight matchups, and seven of the last eight games have been decided by single digits. Falcons -6 is high, and I don’t need to bet the spread to back them.
The Falcons will be coming off of a lot of rest following their Week 5 Thursday Night Football win over the Buccaneers. That’s especially important given the nature of the game and that it went into overtime.
Now, this is a great matchup. The Panthers have lost linebacker Shaq Thompson and defensive tackle Derrick Brown this season, leaving no hope for this defense. Carolina is allowing 33 points per game, which ranks dead last in the NFL.
Remember when the Panthers threw the kitchen sink at their season with Andy Dalton in Week 3? They led the Raiders 21-7 in that game. The Panthers’ other four games, though, weren’t as pretty.
Carolina is allowing 24.5 points per game in the first half alone this season. They have given up at least three first-half touchdowns to the Saints, Chargers, Bengals and Bears this season.
Atlanta, meanwhile is settling in with Kirk Cousins under center, having scored 62 points between its last two games against the Saints and Buccaneers. The Falcons have also scored multiple touchdowns in each of their last three games.
I’m betting that will happen again this week. I’d pivot to Over 1.5 First-Half Touchdowns or Falcons -3.5 in the first half if necessary.
Pick: Falcons 1H Over 13.5 Points
