Atlanta Falcons vs. Minnesota Vikings Preview
As a Vikings fan, this game is basically my Super Bowl. The Kirk Cousins return game is up there with the 1998 NFC Championship Game, which didn’t end well for Minnesota.
On paper, the matchup favors Minnesota. Cousins is a stationary quarterback who needs time in the pocket to thrive. That’s exactly the kind of passer Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores blitz at will against.
The Falcons offense is actually scoring more points on the road this season, but the defense is worse. That means higher-scoring games.
The matchup I’m most intrigued by is the one between Cousins’ old WR1 and his new one.
Both the Falcons and Vikings rank in the bottom 10 in the NFL against opposing WR1s (Atlanta is in the bottom five). Minnesota has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this season. Also, CB Stephon Gilmore will be out for the Vikings.
I like both Drake London and Justin Jefferson’s receiving yard overs. This could be a high-scoring game in which both thrive. I’ve dived in and see a few very, very specific bets that I like.
I parlayed London and Jefferson’s alt lines and created a same-game parlay for both to reach six receptions for 60 yards. I got this at +270 last week, which is great considering London has gotten there in seven of 12 games this season and Jefferson in eight of 12. I also got each to register seven receptions for 100 yards at higher than +1000.
This will be a huge game for Vikings fans, and I’ll avoid betting on Cousins or a side directly, instead betting on big games from two of the NFL’s best receivers.
