NFL player prop bets offer tremendous value on the board every week. They receive less action and money than NFL sides and totals, opening up attractive opportunities for bettors.
One of the best resources to help determine which prop bets to wager on is our FantasyLabs Player Props tool.
We leverage the listed prop bets against our player projections from Sean Koerner, the No. 1 in-season fantasy football ranker in three of the past four seasons.
Each prop bet receives a Bet Quality grade between 1 and 10, with 10 being the biggest edge.
My Sunday night prop bets have hit at a 76% (22-7) rate this season. Let's take a look at two props offering value for the Sunday Night Football game between the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams.
Rams vs. Bears Prop Bets
Rams RB Todd Gurley
The Pick: Over 13.5 Receiving Yards (-112)
Bet Quality: 8/10
Since losing defensive end Akiem Hicks to a dislocated elbow, the Bears' defensive front has not been as effective. They'll also be without linebacker Danny Trevathan (elbow).
This provides more opportunity for Gurley to reach the over on this 8-rated prop.
Chicago has surprisingly allowed the third-most receptions and 11th-most receiving yards to opposing running backs. Jared Goff failed to connect with Gurley on four targets at Pittsburgh last week, but the continued absence of wide receiver Brandin Cooks provides increased passing game volume.
In the two games that Cooks has not played, Gurley has averaged 4.5 targets and 18 receiving yards. Over the past two years, Gurley has seen superb receiving efficiency, averaging 44.9 receiving yards per game at Los Angeles.
Our projection of 16.1 receiving yards is 14% over the implied total of 14.2. I would bet this prop up to -125.
Rams WR Josh Reynolds
The Pick: Over 2.5 Receptions (-167)
Bet Quality: 8/10
The third-year wide receiver has flashed big-play potential when given a chance and inherits a prime opportunity with Cooks still sidelined with a concussion.
Reynolds produced overall WR13 and WR8 weeks last season and his upper quartile Agility Score and Catch Radius are prime red-zone assets for Goff.
While the Bears boast the seventh-best pass defense per Football Outsiders, Chicago will focus their attention on teammates Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods. Reynolds tallied three receptions on five targets and 49 receiving yards last week at Pittsburgh.
Our FantasyLabs projection of 3.1 receptions is 12% above his implied total. I would bet this 8-rated prop up to -190.
This season, 8-rated props are hitting at a 58% (380-272) rate.
