Have you ever felt so confident in your team you would be willing to bet $1 million on them before the season?
One BetMGM bettor feels that way about the Miami Dolphins for the 2022 NFL season.
According to a report from the book Wednesday, one presumably wealthy bettor placed a total of $1.01 million on the Dolphins across three different bets.
The majority of the million dollars was placed on the Dolphins' win total. The bettor placed $900,000 on the Dolphins to win over 7.5 games at -250 odds; a win would net $360,000.
They then took $100,000 and put it on Miami to make the playoffs at +135 odds.
And finally, the bettor wanted some action on the Dolphins to go all the way. They placed $10,000 to win $400,000 on the Dolphins to win the Super Bowl at +4000 odds (Check out all 32 teams' Super Bowl odds here!).
All in all, that is $1.01 million collectively on the Dolphins to net a total of $895,000 if the team wins at least eight regular-season games and the Super Bowl.
The Dolphins went through a mini-rebuild over the offseason. Miami fired its head coach Brian Flores after a 9-8 season in 2021. They hired former San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel to take the post.
They also acquired star wide receiver Tyreek Hill from the Chiefs to bolster the pass attack. With Hill and rookie sensation Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins are expected to have one of the better wide receiving corps in the NFL.
Could this be a breakout season for Tua Tagavailoa? If he excels, it could make at least one person close to a million dollars richer.
