Update: The Bills have a 62% chance to make the NFL playoffs entering Week 17. They currently sit in sixth place in the AFC standings with two games left against the Patriots (eliminated) and Dolphins, and have +240 odds to win the division.
Update: The Bills continue to roll after their bye week and are right in the middle of the postseason race in the AFC. After their win Sunday against the Cowboys, the Bill have an estimated 53% chance to make the NFL playoffs, according to Action Network's Predictive Analytics team. They aren't completely out of the race for the AFC East crown with two games against teams out of the postseason picture and a Week 18 game against the Dolphins.
The Bills have a pair of games against NFL powerhouses and two more against league bottom dwellers. Taking care of business against the Chargers and Patriots and splitting their games against the Cowboys and Dolphins would give them a 10-7 record.
The problem is that double-digit wins might not be enough to clinch a postseason berth as they don’t own many tiebreakers. Six AFC teams entered Week 15 with a 7-6 record, but the Bills are dead last in that group with a 4-5 record in conference games, including losses to the Broncos and Bengals. They also lost to the 8-5 Jaguars, who might have to settle for a Wild Card spot to make the playoffs depending how their division race plays out.
Action Network's Predictive Analytics team give the Bills a 49% chance to make the NFL Playoffs entering Week 15. The Bills are +300 to win the division and two games back from the Dolphins, one of the few teams the Bills do have a tiebreaker over. There’s a chance the AFC East might be decided in the last game of the regular season if the Bills can climb to within one game of the Dolphins heading into their Week 18 showdown.
