The NFL season opens with a bang as the Super Bowl favorite Buffalo Bills take on the defending champion Rams in Los Angeles.
And as always with these sorts of island games, player props are king. For instance, Cooper Kupp to score a touchdown at anytime is actually receiving more bets than the Rams' spread at +2.5.
That data is according to PointsBet, who also kindly provided the Action Network the other two most popular Bills vs. Rams prop bets for tonight's opener.
Bills vs. Rams Most Popular NFL Player Props
- Cooper Kupp to score a touchdown at any time (-136)
- Stefon Diggs to score a touchdown at any time (+130)
- Gabriel Davis to score a touchdown at any time (+165)
*Odds and data are according to PointsBet as of Thursday afternoon.
This will be Kupp's 20th straight game in which he has minus odds to score a touchdown anytime, and our anytime TD guru, Gilles Gallant, doesn't find any value in that play.
It's typically the most wagered on prop at sportsbooks — as it was during Super Bowl LVI — and the books adjust accordingly, stripping away most of its value.
In fact, Gallant doesn't recommend a pick on any of these most popular plays on Thursday night.
Read about his picks here, where he instead endorses Allen Robinson at +160, among other predictions.
Stefon Diggs, like Kupp, has little value week-to-week because sportsbooks tend to hang his value between -120 and +120, Gallant said.
"And it's tricky to endorse a Diggs bet vs. the Rams at these odds considering he’ll see plenty of coverage vs. All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey," Gallant said.
As for Gabriel Davis, Gallant says, "the hype train is off the rails." While his odds had been closer to +450 every game last season, they've risen precipitously off the back of his four-touchdown performance against the Chiefs in a historic AFC Divisional matchup.
While Gallant respects Davis' talent, the sportsbooks have, too, and his number no longer has the value it once did.
