Bills vs. Steelers Postponed

Update: The NFL has postponed Bills vs Steelers due to winter weather that is impacting the area. Because of the timing of the coming blizzard in the area, New York Governor Kathy Hochul has issued a travel ban in Erie County, which begins at 9 p.m. ET Saturday and will extend through the early morning after which local officials said they will reassess whether it's safe for people to travel.

I’ve been in communication with @NFL commissioner Roger Goodell regarding the dangerous conditions in Buffalo this weekend.

In consultation with our emergency response teams, @BuffaloBills leadership, and the NFL, the Bills game will be postponed to 4:30 pm Monday.

How will this impact bets that were already placed on Bills vs Steelers? Sportsbooks will honor bets as long as the game is scheduled within seven days as Avery Yang notes here.

The postponement has shifted the over/under for Monday's game, which was listed at 33 points this morning as has moved up to 39.5 since the news.

Cold weather is having a significant impact on the NFL Wild Card Round, and Sunday's first matchup may take the cake based on the latest Bills vs. Steelers NFL weather report.

Not only will the conditions be frigid, but heavy snow and extremely strong winds are also expected in Buffalo.

As is typically the case, the NFL betting market is reacting – and reacting drastically – to the updated Bills vs. Steelers NFL weather report as Sunday's over/under has plummeted from 43 to 33.5 as of the time of writing.

So let's go ahead and examine the Bills vs. Steelers weather forecast, including just how poor conditions will be at Highmark Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

This forecast is wild.

According to the National Weather Service, we should expect heavy snow in Buffalo after 10 a.m. ET on Sunday.

In fact, there's the potential for 5 to 9 inches of snow, which is on top of the 3 to 13 inches that could fall on Saturday.

Additionally, high temperatures will reach just 24 degrees with steady winds of 26-29 mph and gusts touching 45 mph.

The hourly breakdown isn't any more optimistic, showing kickoff temperatures in the low-20s with the wind chill between 3-4 degrees.

Winds will be a problem during the game as well with 26-29 mph breezes and gusts between 40-45 mph blowing in Buffalo.

As mentioned above, the Bills vs. Steelers over/under has already dropped nearly 10 points since opening, and don't be surprised if it continues to fall as more bettors become aware of Sunday's NFL weather report.
