The Jaguars opened as 3-point favorites over the Browns in the NFL odds for Week 2, with the over/under set at 43. The spread has since moved to Jaguars -4 with the total dipping to 41.5 points.
Cleveland Browns
Deshaun Watson’s first game back after his season-ending shoulder injury didn’t go exactly as planned. He posted an ugly stat line, completing 24-of-45 passes for just 169 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Meanwhile, last year’s top-ranked defense couldn’t handle Dak Prescott and the Cowboys, who dropped 33 points on them at home.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars flamed out at the end of last season, going from virtual locks to win the AFC South entering December to miss out on the postseason altogether. Unfortunately, their Week 1 game against the Miami Dolphins followed a familiar path as they blew a 14-point lead, falling 20-17.
The good news for the Jaguars is that a defense that was mediocre last season held a Dolphins offense that scored the second-most points per game a year ago (29.2) to only 20.
