Following the Amari Cooper trade, losing Cedrick Wilson to free agency, and Michael Gallup expected to miss Week 1, the Cowboys find themselves incredibly thin at WR behind CeeDee Lamb.
One of the ways I expect the Cowboys to remedy this is to use Tony Pollard more in the passing game. He was lining up as a slot receiver at times in camp in order to have both him and Ezekiel Elliott on the field at the same time.
I think we see them use him in the slot at times tonight and it’s worth noting that the Bucs defense can be vulnerable to opposing RBs in the passing game. They allowed the second-most receptions to the position last season.
Dak Prescott tweaked his ankle in practice this week, meaning he’s probably less likely to scramble tonight. That could result in an extra dump-off pass or two to Pollard.
I’m projecting Pollard closer to 26.5 receiving yards and love his upside in this market tonight.
