The Los Angeles Chargers (11-6) will meet the Houston Texans (10-7) on Saturday at NRG Stadium in Houston for a Wild Card weekend game in the NFL playoffs at 4.30 p.m. ET on CBS.
Let’s check out the very best player Chargers vs. Texans props for the first game of Wild Card weekend.
Chargers vs. Texans Player Props
Ahead of Saturday’s game, Quentin Johnston comes into this with a questionable tag, although it’s expected that he plays.
One Charger who won’t be suiting up is Joshua Palmer, which is great news for bettors. Without Palmer last week, we saw Johnston have a career day, catching 13 of 14 passes for 186 yards.
Aside from that Week 18 game, we’ve seen Johnston become more integral to the Chargers offense each passing week. Since returning from injury in Week 9, he’s had 44+ receiving yards in six of 10 games, including four of the past five.
The Texans defense is good, but Johnston should get a chance to cover here given the volume he’ll be getting.
The Texans may have reached the playoffs, but expectations are low after a poor season that saw them decimated by wide receiver injuries. There’s no Tank Dell or Stefon Diggs, meaning we should see volume for C.J. Stroud's favorite target: Nico Collins.
He’s only had seven or more receptions in two of his past five games, but there’s reason to be hopeful he has a big game on Saturday. First, we’ve seen Collins get double-digit targets in five of 12 games this season and seven or more in eight.
Given the lack of competition for targets and the possibility that they’re playing from behind, it should mean Stroud is targeting his favorite wideout.
