The Chicago Bears (4-3) and Arizona Cardinals (4-4) will meet during the late Sunday afternoon slate of NFL Week 9. Kickoff is set for 4:05 p.m. ET from State Farm Stadium in Glendale. The game will be broadcast live on CBS and can be streamed on Paramount+, YouTube TV and other streaming services. The Cardinals are favored by 1.5 points favorites over the Bears (Cardinals -1.5) with the over/under set at 44.5 points. The Cardinals are -125 on the moneyline to win and Chicago is +105.
Caleb Williams is starting to settle in for the Bears, who are in position for a potential playoff berth. The Cardinals, meanwhile, are tied for first place in the NFC West.
Let's get into my Bears vs. Cardinals prediction and my NFL picks for Week 9.
Bears vs. Cardinals Expert Picks
Spread
This is a spot to back Chicago coming off an underwhelming performance on the road that ultimately led to one of the more devastating bad beats in NFL history. I have four trends below that indicate the Bears are the pick this week, including a couple of ways to go about backing them. My best bet, though, is taking Chicago as the underdog.

Moneyline
Playing on the road against a team that has a penchant for playing close games, my focus is on taking the Bears with any point(s) I can get. If it gets down to a pick'em, then I'd bet the moneyline.
Over/Under
I lean toward the under, but not enough for me to bet it.
My pick: Bears +1.5

Bears vs. Cardinals NFL Week 9
This is a spot to back the Bears. It’s really just a matter of how you want to do it.
Chicago’s three-game win streak came to a devastating end on Sunday when Noah Brown answered Jayden Daniels’ prayer. The Commanders were the far more efficient team, but the Bears defense bent but didn’t break and held Washington to four field goals before allowing a brutal touchdown.
The Bears are now 5-2 against the spread this season. Last week wasn’t a great showing for Caleb Williams, but he had shown steady improvement in the weeks before that game. Chicago scored 36 points against the Panthers and 35 against the Jaguars, although those are two of the worst defenses in the NFL.
Here are a few trends that you could use to find an easy way toward backing the Bears. (All of these are courtesy of the brilliant Evan Abrams.)
- This season, Williams is 7-0 against the second-half spread. The only other quarterbacks with undefeated ATS records in the second half are Joe Flacco and Russell Wilson, each of whom has only started two games.
- The Cardinals came back from a double-digit-point deficit last week to beat the Dolphins on the road. Teams coming off a comeback win of 10 or more points are 78-99-2 (44%) ATS the following week since 2020. (Also of note here, the under is 96-80-3 in those games.)
- Kyler Murray had not won consecutive starts since October 2021 before doing so in the past two weeks against the Chargers and Dolphins. He has only won three straight starts twice in his career, with the last time coming during the 2020 season.
- Teams that played a road game in Eastern Time followed by a home game in Mountain or Pacific Time the next week are 60-86-1 ATS over the last decade.
I’ll be taking the points with the Bears this week.
Pick: Bears +1.5
