For the second time in three years, it's time for our Chiefs vs. Eagles predictions for the Super Bowl.

Kansas City took down the Buffalo Bills in a classic matchup between the two AFC rivals. Patrick Mahomes looks like his old self with Xavier Worthy powering the Chiefs passing game. The Eagles, meanwhile, had an easier time of it, beating the Commanders by more than 30 points.

I have identified his first Super Bowl pick, which you can find below.

After a regular season full of mostly defensive battles and tight wins, the Chiefs looked like the vintage version of themselves at the start of the Patrick Mahomes dynasty in the AFC Championship Game against the Bills.

Kansas City put up 32 points against the Bills, staying one step ahead of the explosive Buffalo offense throughout most of the game. Rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy has stepped up as the explosive downfield threat the offense had been missing, opening up space underneath for the rest of the Chiefs pass catchers.

Kansas City now faces another opponent capable of putting up points in a hurry in the Eagles for the Super Bowl, which should inspire a similar approach.

Philadelphia is coming off a 55-point explosion against the Commanders in the NFC Championship Game, in which it got three rushing touchdowns each from both Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts. While the Chiefs are a tougher defensive matchup, they just allowed over 6.5 yards per carry and two scores to James Cook — and Cook is no Barkley, with all due respect.

This total opened at 48.5 most places and was already briefly reached 50.5 at some books. I expect we'll see further upward movement, with some sharper spots holding at 50 or higher shortly after the AFC championship game wrapped up.

Grab the over before it moves much further, which should create opportunities for middles closer to kickoff in two weeks.
