The Cowboys and 49ers meet on Super Wild Card Weekend in a matchup of two teams that can both make a run toward the Super Bowl … if they can get through each other.
Both teams have loads of talent on offense and defense and have shown they can play with the best teams in the league. Given the talent and schemes on both sides of the ball, it is hard to imagine either team running away with this game. Let’s see if we can build a parlay to take advantage of that.
A full breakdown of this game can be found here.
Should you bet same-game parlays? We outline all the factors you should consider when betting same-game parlays here.
Cowboys-49ers Same-Game Parlay
Props 1 & 2 : Alt Spread 49ers +6.5 (-180) & Under 51 Total Points (-110)
The motivation to bet the spread and under are the same, so we are grouping them. I like the 49ers straight-up down to +3, however, for our parlay, I prefer to buy a little cushion.
The driving force for this bet is that possessions become much more valuable in the playoffs. That will be even more so the case for these teams in particular. The 49ers and Cowboys will play through their run games early as they feel out the game.
A conservative approach allows the 49ers to keep Jimmy Garoppolo from making a costly turnover early. As for the Cowboys, it is simply their preference to slow-play these games early. This will keep the clock moving and limit possessions, playing right into the under.
When games are low scoring and determined by the run game, a hefty spread like +6.5 is a strong bet. Playing to a close game works in the 49ers' favor too. It is well known that Mike McCarthy struggles with clock management and situational football, whereas Kyle Shanahan is one of the best coaches in the league.
The 49ers have too much talent to let this get out of hand. Even if it does, we saw Shanahan rally his troops last week against a strong Rams team and come back. This 6.5 should be more than enough for a cover.
Prop 2: Dak Prescott Over 7.5 Rush Yards (-120)
This bet comes courtesy of our PRO Top Props and has an “A” grade.
After seeing that kind of value, I had to look deeper. Prescott has only surpassed this number seven times, but what is important is when he ran the ball. Of those seven, only one game came when the Cowboys did not trail or play within one score.
Those situations fit right in with our script for this game. It’s the playoffs, Prescott has a warrior mentality, and this game should be close. If he has the chance, he will take matters into his own hands.
Prop 3: Deebo Samuel Touchdown (-140)
In the shadow of Cooper Kupp's and Jonathan Taylor’s success is the year Deebo Samuel had in transitioning into a hybrid, postion-less weapon within the 49ers offense.
He is highly productive on the ground and through the air, demanding the defense's attention at all times. His expanded use in the run game is what creates the value here. Since Samuel’s run usage increased in Week 10, he has scored a touchdown in all but one game.
In the playoffs, the 49ers will lean on their Swiss Army Knife and Samuel will continue that touchdown streak
